LIC LIC's Jeevan Amar (Plan No. 955): Full Guide, Eligibility & Premium
27 February 2026 · 9 min read · Term Assurance Plans
LIC's Jeevan Amar belongs to LIC's term assurance plans family. In one line: pure protection, two death benefit options
Eligibility at a glance — entry age 18 to 65 years; sum assured ₹25,00,000 and above; policy term 10 to 40 years. Anything outside those bands will simply not be issued, so check them before you plan the premium.
What the plan actually gives you: Level or increasing sum assured options Separate non-smoker premium rates Single, regular or limited premium payment Optional accident benefit rider Those are the contractual features; bonus or market-linked components, where they apply, are declared by LIC each year and are not guaranteed in advance.
Who it suits: Earning members who want the largest possible cover per rupee of premium. If that does not describe your situation, there is usually a better-fitting plan in the same family, and it costs nothing to ask.
Before you sign, run LIC's Jeevan Amar through the premium calculator on this site with your own age, sum assured and term. Seeing the yearly outgo next to the projected maturity value is the fastest way to know whether the plan fits your cash flow — and the fastest way to spot a mis-sold recommendation.
